Welcome to the Mason Law Firm, LLC. Our law firm is dedicated to helping families in North Georgia navigate the legal system during some of the most difficult times of their lives. The father-and-son legal team have been trial lawyers for numerous divorce jury trials, weeks-long complex child custody final trials and are routinely hired to represent clients in highly contentious and emotionally charged family law and probate litigation.

Our team is currently composed of experienced attorneys, Daniel R. Mason, Joshua D. Mason and three paralegals. With over 60 years of combined legal experience, the team has helped countless families resolve complex legal issues related to divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, property division, probate administration and more.

Daniel R. Mason

Of Counsel

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Daniel Mason graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1973. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in Political Science, Daniel went on to the Woodrow Wilson College of Law in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated with a J.D. in 1984.

Daniel began working in Cherokee County, Georgia in 1984 as a trial attorney and began his own firm in 1993. His son, Joshua Mason, joined The Mason Law Firm, LLC in 2007.

Daniel is owner of the Law Office of Daniel R. Mason, LLC. His practice focuses on criminal and traffic law, probate litigation and administration, worker’s compensation and personal injury. Prior to Daniel’s 38 year-long career as an attorney, he worked in the corporate insurance industry for 11 years on cases relating to personal injury and worker’s compensation claims.

Daniel is also an avid railroad modeler and leads several not-for-profit railroad modeling clubs in the Southeast.

Joshua D. Mason

Managing Partner

Joshua Mason was raised in Cobb County, Georgia where he graduated from Lassiter High School in 2001.

Joshua graduated from the Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree. Knowing he would join his father as a trial attorney, Joshua attended the  Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.

While at Mercer, Joshua focused his studies on family law and received several awards for his competency in family law.

Since joining his father at The Mason Law Firm, LLC in 2007, Joshua has dedicated his daily professional life to representing clients in high-conflict family law and probate litigation. In his 15 years of experience, he has become a well-known family law trial attorney among the North Georgia legal community.

Michael Shi

Senior Paralegal

Born in New York City, New York, Michael graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2017. Shortly after graduation, Michael joined the firm, working on high-conflict divorce cases.

Along with his extensive paralegal experience in trial preparation and discovery auditing, Michael manages the daily business operations of the firm.

Michael is the firm’s ’emergency responder’, often being the first to respond to clients’ emergency needs.

Ben Bertoni

Litigation Paralegal

Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Ben graduated from Wheaton College in 2022. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in History, Ben moved to Georgia to pursue a career in law.

Ben works as the litigation paralegal at the firm and is responsible for all evidence gathering. This includes discovery auditing, subpoena processing and preparing cases for trial, mediation and settlements.

Ben lives in Alpharetta and plans to continue his education by attending law school with the goal of working as an attorney in family law.

Cameron J. Barton

Paralegal

Born in Tucson, Arizona, Cameron moved to Georgia when he was a child, growing up near Augusta, Georgia. Cameron graduated with a degree in History from Kennesaw State University in 2022.

Cameron works in the front office and is often the first voice clients hear when calling the firm.

Cameron lives in Marietta with his girlfriend, their dog and two cats. Cameron plans to continue his education with the goal of becoming a professor.
